Spent 45 minutes watching these two Blue Tits hoovering up grubs and caterpillars “in the wild” in a ditch near Little Stoke Railway Bridge. That 5 second moment where you are scanned as "friend or foe" and the "fight or flight" kicks in ; although with Deer its always flight. In this case I had already donned a balaclava and froze. I couldn't hide as I was walking an unsighted Bklack Labrador! But with slowmo one step at a time. This was taken at approx 5 yards closer before the Buck got uncomfortable. Archangel

Male Kingfisher in perfect pose hovering above a private lake in South Oxfordshire. Nikon D850, Sigma 150-600 1/6400th , f6.3, ISO 2500 Probably my most challenging shot to date. After 3 days of research I knew this lake had Kingfishers "skim" the water but with no obvious "perch" I had no idea where they would be, so took up a best guess position & waited 5am-9am with superfast shutter speed, max aperture and zone focus to get a sharp image of something moving very fast. My planning and patience paid of with this shot I call "Archangel" at 20 yards away. Still not sharp enough - ho hum - always another goal awaits.

Postmans Sunrise

The cubs may have been ready to ignore me , but mum certainly was NOT! She held me in her gaze for 2 seconds , partially obscured and then took off down the channel. Leaving only dust and a photographer with a surge of adrenalin and excitement at a little slice of natures finest. Nikon D850, Sigma 150-600 1/640th , f10, ISO 800 Waited 2 hours for Hares , but after ~90 minutes the Vixen and 2 cubs crossed the channel instead. My lucky moment.

Harvest Mouse

A small rodent native to Europe & typically found in fields of cereal crops. It has a naked, highly prehensile tail, which it uses for climbing. It is the smallest European rodent and weighs as little as 4 grams. It eats chiefly seeds and insects, but also nectar and fruit. [Thanks to the WEWPC for the opportunity to photograph these amazing animals] Photographed at the West Country Wildlife photography centre.
