Red Kites squabble on a hot spring afternoon at South Stoke. This "divebombing session" lasted a good 20 minutes before the victim headed off for less hassle.
We have all noticed the peace and quiet of lockdown making local wildlife braver and coming close to human dwellings. This deer was 5 yards away from a River footpath by the Thames in Oxfordshire at 7am when I spotted a pair of ears. Due to a bit of camouflage I was a allowed to get close and with powerful lens caught this Roe Deer" eyesight". A small rodent native to Europe & typically found in fields of cereal crops. It has a naked, highly prehensile tail, which it uses for climbing. It is the smallest European rodent and weighs as little as 4 grams. It eats chiefly seeds and insects, but also nectar and fruit.
